YetepIn life and music, full-circle moments are truly a gift. They help showcase the growth and evolution you’ve experienced along your unique journey by connecting the past with the present. Louis The Child have come full circle with their new single “Believe It,” featuring French DJ and producer Madeon. From inspiration to collaboration, “Believe It” features Louis The Child’s trademark bounce with an influence of Garage and Madeon’s French-inspired dance-pop. “Believe It” is out now via Interscope Records.
Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, the duo we now know and love as Louis The Child, first met as teens at a Madeon concert. Their mutual love for jazz, electronic dance music, and indie rock immediately bonded them. Louis The Child is now known as one of the most acclaimed production duos to come out of their hometown of Chicago. In 2015, they released their breakthrough hit “It’s Strange,” featuring K. Flay. They then opened for Madeon and Porter Robinson’s European leg of the Shelter Tour, which took place five years after they first met. “Believe It” is the pair’s first joint effort with their lifelong hero, Madeon.
Of the release, Louis The Child shared:
“’Believe It’ is a real full circle moment for us. We first met at a Madeon show, and he was the first artist who ever took us on tour. It’s such a perfect song to make memories to throughout the summer.”
“I remember when I first met Louis The Child – I knew something special was going to happen for them. It’s been fun watching their career blossom!” Madeon adds. “When they asked me to collaborate, it felt like such a fun, full-circle moment. Making ‘Believe It’ was such a joyful, spontaneous experience. I hope that spirit comes across in the music! It makes me feel like what being a teen in the 90s must have felt like, that first wave of French house music.”
In celebration of this full-circle moment, Louis The Child held a pop-up day party in Chicago yesterday, where over 300 fans attended and even more waited to get in. Attendees called it the “epitome of summertime Chi,” “absolutely mental,” and, of course, “iconic.” “Believe It” has set the tone for what may be another Louis The Child summer.
