While digging through crates the other day I came across Joe Hunt’s “Up To No Good.” Quite honestly, I wasn’t familiar with Joe Hunt but this track surely changed that. Joe Hunt is a house and UK garage producer originally from Walsall, Birmingham. He has consistently released music since 2019 with his latest track being one of the fastest-rising in his catalog. “Up To No Good” is poised to be Joe Hunt’s break into the house production scene.
This sample is a great find by Joe Hunt, but the heavy-hitting production around the vocal makes this track pop. I was not expecting such a dancy drop when I first heard this song and I was pleasantly surprised when the melody came in. It was skillfully placed on the drop and added to wow-factor for this track. I can already imagine the crowd dancing uncontrollably to this track when the beat drops.
The track has been supported by DJ’s such as Interplanetary Criminal, Cheat Codes, and RSCL to name a few. It’s picked up traction on DSP editorials, landing Spotify’s “Housewerk”, “Dance Rising”, and even the cover of “Fresh Finds Dance” playlists. He’s even managed to land radio support from UK’s Capital Dance and BBC Radio 1. I originally found the track back in August and it has gained over 1.2M streams on Spotify since then. I’m looking forward to more releases from Joe Hunt and watching him keep up the momentum as time goes on.
