Marc Kinchen, popularly known by his stage name ‘MK‘, has been an inspiration in the deep house community since the early 1990’s. MK has a reputation for remixing tracks with excellent vocals such as tracks from Bakermat, Lana Del Rey, Sia, Sam Smith, and more. MK has always brought something fresh to the house scene with his unique style. His signature technique is layering the acapella vocal samples to make it sounds like a choir. Along with the deep future house bassline, and catchy piano lead, the choir-like vocal is highlighted in the most incredible way, usually giving his audience goose bumps as they enjoy the track.
Although Kinchen has been taking 2015 off to work on a new album, the artist could not let an opportunity to remix a song from the infamous Rüfüs Du Sol pass by, especially when the opportunity was brought to him by the Australian band themselves. The original track possesses impressive emotive vocals with a chill house beat, similar to sounds from the likes of Claptone, or MYNGA. MK broke down the track and cooked up a whole new mix that emits a strong aroma of his flavor.
The deep house bassline and choir-like vocals combines perfectly in this track, making the anticipation for MK’s upcoming album near unbearable. The same can be said about my anticipation to see MK’s performance at Phoenix Lights 2016 at Margaret T Hance Park on April 3rd. I can’t wait to see him perform live on the same stage with other major house artists like Bakermat and Claude Von Stroke on the same night!
