YetepDavid Crow, aka Ghastly, is a familiar name to the EDM community in the valley. He had played a few different sets here and is known to bring down the house. Ghastly has a reputation for his versatility — to incorporate many different styles and genres in his sets, including Trap, Dubstep, Future Bass, and many House sub-genres, such as Bass House, Future House, Future Garage, UK Garage. Crow recently had the opportunity to play at BBC1 headquarters, podcast by Diplo called “Diplo & Friends”, and he put on a mad decent show. This hour long mix is nothing but fire, and it demonstrates his versatility very well. It is one of the reasons this mix is featured in this week’s RBDeep In the Mix. Check out Ghastly’s Diplo & Friends mix at BBC1.
The other reason to feature this mix is that it showcased his massive library: Ghastly was able to fit and play almost 50 tracks in this mix. The mix includes bangers from many artists in different genres, such as NGHTMRE, Drezo, Sikdope, Getter, Jauz, Snails, Kill the Noise, Habstrakt, and many more. He also played many of his well known originals and remixes, along with a few unreleased tracks. The way Ghastly switches back and forth between different genres and styles is so smooth, even when he abruptly changes the beats, or bassline, it always sounds seamless and purposeful.
Ghastly will once again makes a stop in Phoenix and bring his talents to Phoenix Lights on April 3 at Margaret T Hance Park. He will be playing on the same night with a few other similar genre artists like Dr. Fresch, Drezo, and Ephwurd. I’m looking forward to go ham at Ghastly’s live set again.
