YetepSMASH’s third single, “Ready 2 Go,” also happens to be the third music video in the series. Just like with “Hello” the video centers around a stadium, only this time it’s Stade de France.
Martin Solveig‘s half-time performance at the friendly international match between France and Croatia serves as the setting of the video. Over 80,000 soccer fans participated in the video by raising colored paper in waves similar to the cover art for the “Ready 2 Go” single. In the video, Solveig comes into the stadium with the majorette (according to Solveig majorettes are like “a sort of cheerleader, but with a baguette, it’s very French”), lip syncs to “Ready 2 Go” playing in the stadium, and performs a short dance–which by the way, is also very very French.

The long video guest stars Dragonette and opens with she and Solveig in the studio recording “Can’t Stop” with inspiration from Celine Dion. Lafaille distracts Solveig during after the last take with his great idea for the name of the upcoming album, “SMASH.” Of course, Solveig doesn’t hear the last take and is at loss for words when Dragonette asks what he thought.
After Lafaille promises that he knows the manager of French football team majorette, Solveig and Lafaille sneak into Stade de France. In French team’s locker room, Lafaille continues to outline the plan to provide fans with colored paper in the pattern of the French flag with “Ready 2 Go” in the middle. Thanks to some editing magic, they’re able to place all the paper in the seats in under a minute. Although, it’s tough to see in the audience if there really was a flag or “Ready 2 Go.”
“Ready 2 Go” adds another element to the SMASH album’s sport theme. It started out with a tennis match at Roland Garros with Bob Sinclair only to be followed by a half-time performance at Stade de France. At this point it’s probably safe to say that Solveig is a big fan.
Catch Martin Solveig tomorrow at Wild Knight for an epic tennis themed party and look out for the finale of the SMASH video series.
