YetepSummer is just over the horizon and that means festival season is on its way. This year, it kicks off with Electric Daisy Carnival at MetLife Stadium in New York over a three day weekend, a first for the largest traveling festival in the United States. Although the first round of tickets quickly sold out, Insomniac has since released more tickets and they’re still some available.
EDC’s first installment this year will have an endless array of theatrical performances, interactive art displays, and carnival rides spread across the festival grounds throughout the weekend. Over the course of three days, festival goers will have a change to see some of the industry’s biggest names: Armin van Buuren, Fatboy Slim, Fedde le Grande, Madeon, Cosmic Gate, Avicii, Calvin Harris, Alesso, Steve Angello, Erick Morillo, Thomas Gold, Markus Schulz, Afrojack, Chuckie, SJRM, and R3HAB among many, many others. Techno and house fans will be glad to know that Carl Cox, John Digweed, Seth Troxler, Richie Hawtin, and Loco Dice will also be performing.
For long time EDM fans, it’s easy to recognize how this is just another NYC milestone in dance music’s increasing popularity in the US. Electric Zoo’s inaugural event took place in 2009, Swedish House Mafia was the first dance act to perform at Madison Square Garden late last year, and in less than ten days EDC will take over MetLife Stadium.
