YetepRL Grime is a busy, busy man as of late. Just last month he released the killer single “Reims”, then announced an upcoming album, Nova, with an accompanying tour and now he’s at it again with his new single “Stay For It” featuring Miguel.
Miguel’s effortless vocals take this track to a whole new level. It pushes the boundaries of what we know to be RL Grime’s style and has fans ready for more! Long time fans shouldn’t frey, the trap elements are still there, but the synths and melody are what really make this track the masterpiece it is.
With the release, RL Grime said, “I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite artists ever, Miguel. we were both raised in LA, and draw on a lot of the same feelings…as different as our music is. this song began on the back of a tour bus in 2015, and has taken on many lives over the last 2 years.. but as I’ve learned, patience has a magical effect … so thrilled to finally share this.”
RL Grime has also said Nova is bigger than an album and more about ideas. Well so far, we think “Stay For It” is a pretty good idea and can’t wait to see what the rest of the album holds. You can see RL Grime in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 25th and a slew of other locations and dates as a part of his Nova tour.
