YetepAs we near the end of 2017, it’s becoming more and more clear who has taken over the scene, pushing past all competition and coming out on top. This year, Lil Uzi Vert has taken the industry by storm, landing himself as No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 for his newest album, Luv Is Rage 2.
Uzi began his career making mixtapes in 2014 when he was picked up on the radio by DJ Don Cannon. After this, he had collaborations with the likes of Migos, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug and that’s just a few. Uzi has been steadily climbing to the top since then with chart topping with singles like “Bad and Boujee,” and of course “XO Tour Llif3.”
Lil Uzi Vert – XO Tour Llif3 (Official Music Video)
Lil Uzi Vert is completely unique in his style and his sound, but that’s not completely surprising considering the broad range of influences he’s noted, including artists like Marilyn Manson and Hayley Williams. Uzi’s lyricism is generally touching, but in today’s saturated rap scene it’s even more impactful. His music has been a refreshing emotional cleanse while remaining true to his hip-hop background. Thankfully, AZ gets a chance to see him in all his glory this coming Sunday when he headlines at Goldrush AZ ! Grab your last minute tickets here.
