YetepCashmere Cat, Major Lazer, and Tory Lanez have teamed up for a surprising, yet fun new track, “Miss You.” Cashmere Cat has collaborated frequently in the past year, with the likes of Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and other top artists. Similarly, the Major Lazer trio has worked with Ellie Goulding, Travis Scott, and MØ. Throwing hip-hop artist Tory Lanez into the mix on this collaboration has proven to be successful, as the single is making a few waves already. The track itself is mellow, yet upbeat, with Tory Lanez’ soothing vocals set atop a somewhat tropical beat. Check it out below.
This collaboration came about in an interesting turn of events. It was originally planned to be released as a track on Tory Lanez’ upcoming album, getting big-time producer Benny Blanco involved, who had slotted Ed Sheeran, surprisingly, to help write the lyrics. The artists had even struggled with creating a drop for the song until the idea finally fell into their lap. Diplo said in an article:
“We finished it together backstage one night at Red Rocks in Denver actually…It was after his set, before my set… It was funny because we actually worked on the drop for a year and everything sucked. And then we made the most easiest drop ever.”
