“The first time I heard them, I saw the around the world video,” he recalls. “I sort of just gotten wind of electronic music and I was hearing a lot of stuff I’d never heard before. There’s something about the ritual-ness of it that makes a lot of sense to me.”

Making an indent on his past, Panda Bear attempted to persuade Daft Punk to remix one of the songs he created with Animal Collective, and the later on, one of his own singles. Both times he was shut down, but was later asked to join them in Paris. After taking them upon their invitation to Paris, Panda Bear discussed some of his work with the iconic duo.
“They set up a bunch of microphones to see which one would sound best with my voice and then it was like, ‘O.K., do something good’,” he said. “It was right at the last moment that we came up with something that we all liked.”
“Right away, it’s such a huge honor for me, but to take about it, is still a little bit difficult at this point,” he said. “One thing I like about Daft Punk is that every album seems to be completely different. I feel like they kind of challenge themselves to go some place new.”
