YetepKnife Party returns to Rage Valley with frighteningly good Haunted House EP, which dropped earlier this week on May 6 (although you may already heard the entire highly-anticipated EP by now as it’s been played by everyone). Power synths and crashing bass seems to be the theme of this intense, banging group of electro-dub.
“Power Glove” jumps right in with bouncing smashes. I’d advise not to stand in front of the speakers for fear of being knocked over from gushes of bass wind. A choir rolls in with scary screams through the ripping notes.
“LRAD” is Knife Party’s version of progressive house, except harder with a bit of electro mixed in. Punching drums lift and drop the floor over and over to intensify any set. Fluidized grooves fade in to give ravers a break from the hammering dub tones.
Introducing ‘EDM Death Machine’, which is just like it sounds. A creepy voice threatens you about the future of electronic genres. ‘Say Hello To The Robots’ and the rhythm sirens stutter in and out, flaring the the bass.
Finally, the VIP remix of Internet Friends joins the group. I remember first hearing the mix at EDC 2012 through the Knife Party set, a high drop version that all begins with 2012’s favorite Knife Party lines, “You blocked me on facebook, and now, you’re going to the get f***ed up,” as the voice changes demonically.
Check out the album now on Beatport & iTunes and prepare your raging nervous breakdowns. This album is not intended for smooth listening.
