This isn’t the first time that Cedric Gervais has taken a Lana Del Rey song, and made it mix friendly. Earlier this year, ‘Summertime Sadness’ got the Gervais rework, blowing up the Beatport charts and introducing Lana’s voice into the main stream progressive movement.
‘Young & Beautiful’, the worried, yet hopeful track off of The Great Gatsby soundtrack receives the VIP treatment from Gervais, adding some bounce and flair to the track.
Cedric Gervais told Rolling Stone about his work with Lana tracks in a recent article. “I’m a huge fan of Lana Del Rey’s music and having already remixed ‘Summertime Sadness,’ I was excited to work with her again on ‘Young and Beautiful,'” said Gervais. “Her voice is amazing and I built an entirely new instrumental around the vocal. It’s killer for the dance floor but also something that sounds great in the car.”
This mix comes off the heels of Myon & Shane 54’s edition premiered on Above & Beyond‘s Group Therapy and Markus Schossow’s worldly summer remix of the track.
This won’t be the last time we hear Lana’s voice on 128+ bpm tracks, and probably not the last Cedric Gervais is helping her.
