The Relentless Beat of the Week: Rudimental – “Never Let You Go”

This one is for all of you Drum and Bass lovers out there. This weeks Relentless Beat of the Week goes out to UK DnB sensations, Rudimental and their new track “Never Let You Go”. This track is off of their upcoming album, We the Generation, set for release on September 18th. This track is representative of Rudimental’s signature sound that blends Drums, Bass, and a bit of Jazz. We hear the lull of brass in the background alongside the incessant drums, claps, and spirited vocals by Foy Vance.

RUDIMENTAL – NEVER LET YOU GO [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

Even better, Rudimental released the official music for the track on June 4th, featuring footage shot all around the world including UK, Morocco, Ukraine, and Los Angeles. From what I can tell, the video tells a story of social segregation and unity, depicting different people from around the world as different vibrant colors. It is obviously up for interpretation, but what I see is a video that is trying to send us a message about what brings us together and what pulls us apart, but that ultimately, we are all people. The visuals in the video were created in collaboration with video director, Nez, who they have collaborated with before on the video for the track “Waiting All Night”.

In addition, to support the release of their new album, they are holding a special contest where fans can submit their own album artwork for a chance to receive signed vinyls with their artwork or signed poster with their artwork. You can see Rudimental at various festivals around the world this summer to support their new music including Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, and Lovebox.  If you can’t wait that long or travel that far to get your fix of Drum and Bass, check out Kove at The Pressroom on July 13th for the Bassrush Takeover!
