YetepDick Clark Productions looks to fall in line with the EDM surge as they work on a new DJ-based award shows, similar to the American Music Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards, which Dick Clark Productions already produces.
The New York Post reported that it may not be long before we see the huge superstars of Ibiza and international music festivals come together for a nationally televised night of EDM cherishing. It makes sense considering the Grammy’s growing number of EDM categories, and the fact that EDM is booming in a currently struggling music industry.
The Golden Globe producing company was reportedly shopping for a network to host the broadcast of the event for an entirely individualized all encompassing EDM show.
Though Dick Clark CEO Alan Shapiro didn’t comment in regards to the EDM show, he said “They (advertisers) want to be associated with live events, with a young audience and that interests us as well.”
What could garner more attention from a younger audience than the thrill of electro producing DJs having their night to shine? With the popularity of electronic dance culture rushing into the limelight, this could be the perfect move for the established production company.
Keep in touch for more info on this possible new event. But, for now, Dick Clark. So long!
