YetepThe Electronic Music Academy “DJ Camp” is coming to the Ivar Theatre at The Los Angeles Recording School, May 28 to June 1, 2015. Among the attendees could be the next generation of mega DJ/producers scoring the most sought after residencies in Las Vegas and Hollywood.
The five-day DJ camp is a cultural education program designed for those wanting to pursue and succeed in a career in electronic music. Leading industry experts and musicians deliver attendees insider access to DJ and production fundamentals and advanced industry insights including the technical, business, marketing, social/viral, and creative side of building a brand as a DJ/ producer in the art of electronic music.
High-profile experts in their fields developed this new, intensive program for budding artists wanting to kick-start their music career and includes hands-on workshops, in-studio demonstrations, lectures and Q&As with world-renowned DJs/producers, managers, agents, promoters, entertainment lawyers and equipment specialists. The expert speaker lineup includes the following “who’s who” from the world of electronic music includes Paul Oakenfold, Jason Kadlec, Liquid Todd and Matt Meyer.
The Electronic Music Academy was co-founded by Oakenfold and Founder and President of Bass Camp Music Festival, Paul Reder, who brings over 30 years of event, festival and booking experience to the Academy.
“This is a great opportunity for me to give back to the electronic music community and take the time to teach and mentor students who have an interest in an industry that I’ve so proudly been a part of all these years,” says Oakenfold. “For me, the chance to make a difference in the careers of budding new artists is something I’ve always wanted to do, and providing this education is truly a dream for me.”
Tuition for the “DJ camp” includes the five days of seminars and instruction, student lodging, daily breakfast and lunch, classroom-style seminars, lectures, small group break-outs, in-studio demonstrations, one-on-one interaction with electronic music industry leaders and a graduation banquet hosted by Oakenfold.
