YetepHouse legend and veteran Sasha will be coming back to Phoenix for another installment of RB Deep this summer. Hailing from Wales, Sasha developed an interest in electronic music in the late 1980s and got his start when a club he frequented was looking for DJs. At the time, Sasha had just been learning to mix, but we can all hear that he has definitely gotten his handle on the decks.
Sasha has a had a long history as a DJ, playing everything from illegal raves in warehouses to giant festivals all over the world. For a period in time, Sasha played with fellow house veteran John Digweed. Together they collaborated on a multitude of projects, performances, and had many releases from labels such as Ministry of Sound and were featured in publications like Mixmag. Aside from collaborations, Sasha has had many success in his own solo productions. With nominations such as Winter Music Conference’s award for Best European DJ, and his award from Ericsson Muzik Awards for “Outstanding Contribution to Dance Music”, it’s not hard to see why Sasha has also consistently placed top 10 in DJMag’s top DJ list. Along with a Grammy nomination for his remix of Felix Da Housecat’s “Watching Cars Go By” and being a nominee for the top DJ in his category from the DJ Awards, it’s clear that Sasha is here to stay.
His unique and deep sound and his fluid mixes with hypnotizing beats are just the tip of the iceberg in a long list of reasons to catch Sasha at RB Deep on June 27. He’s an international dance music sensation that has no signs of quitting, so let’s just keep dancing.
