YetepHawaii native, Christian Mochizuki, better known as graves, started his career as a sound engineer. He thrived where he stood, winning a Grammy Award for his work on Kanye West’s “My Dark, Beautiful, Twisted Fantasy.” He’s now a rising name in the electronic community as well. He recently dropped this wobbly 6-track EP, Hilo, which has energetic, futuristic action-movie-soundtrack melodies cut with his unbelievably clean production. He collaborated with big names like Boombox Cartel, Hex Cougar and bbno$ to give us a well-rounded EP, balancing bass with hip-hop and even some underlying Egyptian belly dance tones.

Hilo is already making major waves in the electronic community; it recently hit the #1 spot, surpassing Marian Hill, LCD Soundsystem and Cashmere Cat on the Itunes charts. Recently, graves has been rocking big festivals like Hard Summer and Holy Ship. Right now he’s killing smaller shows across the U.S. and Canada with Josh Pan. You can see a list of their upcoming shows here!
