YetepFollowing its original October 2017 release, the documentary following Avicii‘s tumultuous and talented life as a celebrity EDM producer will be giving dedicated fans of the beloved late DJ a rare cinematic experience. The film, which both celebrates the incredible life of Tim Bergling and chronicles the strife he faced in the spotlight, was originally available for streaming on Netflix but was understandably pulled after the artist’s sudden passing in April of this year. Now, fans have one shot to see Avicii honored on the silver screen (although it is possible the film will be available for streaming later).
AVICII: TRUE STORIES – Official Trailer
The film, directed by Levan Tsikurishvili, will be meeting its requirements to be considered for an Oscar by playing in New York City’s Cinema Village from December 21 to 27 and in LA’s Laemmle theater December 14 through 20. Even though its projection on the big screen won’t last long, it’s a beautiful way to pay tribute to the man who did so much for the electronic dance community and celebrate his success.
