Last time we checked up on Joe Ghost, the Canadian DJ switched musical gears with the release of “Believe” featuring Joee De Simone. This time, the well-known multifaceted producer is bringing a brand new anthem to the table featuring lyrics from Mermaids Exist.

Joe Ghost returns to his roots of catchy, soft-spoken melodies infused with hard-hitting, rough drops on his new single, “Let It Go.” Mermaids Exist contributes his calm tenor to portray the experience of allowing yourself to fall in love with another human and the exhilaration of that happiness. The music video follows the simple, veteran format of showing listeners experience the “Let It Go” track firsthand while filming their reactions. While the track may start out soft, this anthem surprises all listeners with its tantalizing drops and comfy melodies. In a direct quote from Joe Ghost himself, the producer reflects on the lyrics and comments on the chillstep influence:

“I wanted to use a lot of live instruments for this specific track because I wanted to keep the song organic sounding, similar to how real love is built,” said Joe Ghost. “This is personally one of my favorite new tunes from my upcoming album. It talks about the struggles of dating, getting close with someone special and that first feeling you get when you know they’re ‘the one.”
