YetepWuki is the solo project of LA-based DJ/producer Kris Barman. Before his career in electronic dance music, Barman was a member of the electronic rock band, Innerpartysystem, where he sang back-up vocals, played the guitar and synthesizer and helped with programming. After the band split up in 2011, Barman moved to Denver, Colorado and began producing and DJing under the alias Wuki. One of his first gigs was hosting the late night radio show, E-Lven.
Wuki has since carved out a lane for himself in the world of electronic dance music, with releases on tastemaker record labels like Mad Decent and OWSLA. Check out one of his earlier tracks, “That’s Right,” below for this week’s Spin it Back Saturday.
Released in 2014, “That’s Right” was a perfect example of the genre-bending style Wuki would ultimately become known for. Catch Wuki live for the 10 year anniversary of Crush this February 15 and 16. Click here to see the full lineup, get all the info you need, and purchase tickets.
