YetepExactly four years ago Gesaffelstein performed at Coachella. Since then, we haven’t heard much from him. The 31-year-old French DJ is known for his dark techno style and came into the public eye with his co-production of “Black Skinhead” and “Send It Up” from Kanye West’s sixth album, Yeezus. Last October, two billboards were found in New York and Paris with Gesaffelstein name. Fans grew excited and rumors spread that Gesaffelstein was working on his second studio album.

A month ago, Gesaffelstein surprised fans with a single called “Lost in the Fire” featuring the Weeknd. Now signed with Columbia Records, Gesaffelstein created a slightly more pop sound and the song did well commercially with over 77 million plays on Spotify alone. It was later announced that his long-awaited second album, Hyperion, will be released March 8. In anticipation of this drop, he also released another song from the album, “Blast Off” featuring Pharrell Williams. During this time he also released the Hyperion tracklist which includes features from HAIM, The Hacker, and Bronwyn Griffin.
Hyperion Tracklist:

Not only will Gesaffelstein be releasing new music, but he’ll be ending his touring hiatus with performances at Coachella 2019 and the Governors Ball. Gesaffelstein’s new mixture of pop and dark techno prove to be a great sound and while we might have missed him during his hiatus, Gesaffelstein is coming back stronger than ever.
