Tucson Prepare to Headbang with Kai Wachi This Thursday
This Cinco de Mayo weekend we’re bringing all the heat! First, we’re proud to present our first ever Parade of Bass festival at Balloon Museum Park in Albuquerque with SLANDER, Said the Sky, Wooli, and Wavedash providing the tunes. That same night we have GTA in Scottsdale and Ruckus in Glendale. GTA travels to Tucson the next evening, while Deorro kicks things off proper at our first TSR pool party of the season! Meanwhile, SLANDER is bringing their Headbangers Ball tour to The Van Buren while Ray Volpe and UBUR take over Flagstaff. Rounding out the weekend we’re spending a super special Cinco de Mayo Sunday Funday with Zedd at the pool at a Lil Jon block party at Cityscape!
5/3: Parade of Bass Festival @ Balloon Museum Park, Albuquerque
We’ve been known to cause quite the bassquake here in Phoenix and surrounding cities, but this May we’re bringing the bass all the way to Albuquerque, New Mexico! We’re proud to present our first ever Parade of Bass festival at Balloon Museum Park with SLANDER, Said the Sky, Wooli, and Wavedash providing the tunes. The museum opened in 2005 and has since welcomed over one million visitors from across New Mexico, the United States, and around the world, but we’re certain they’ve never seen it like this.
Julio Mejia and Matt Toth are the men behind GTA who’s sets are known to be musical joyrides as they speed from trap and hip-hop into booming electro, take unexpected detours with rock and R&B, and screech to a halt for massive bass drops. Despite GTA’s wild, unpredictable sets, everything the duo does – both on stage and in the studio – is unified by a simple mission statement: death to genres. The duo’s open-mindedness is closely tied to their Miami roots, as they were exposed to urban, electronic rock and Latin sounds in equal measure. Whether you prefer to say the powerhouse duo is killing genres or creating their own, one thing is clear: GTA is on a bold musical mission, and they’re taking us along for the ride.

Hailed by GQ as “the most sought after DJ in the world,” DJ Ruckus has never moved slowly in establishing himself as the premiere open-format DJ. As a leader in the “good music” genre, Ruckus never disappoints whether he’s tearing it up on the festival stage or bringing down Las Vegas via with his club is residency. His latest is a must-hear upbeat trap tune that can gym pump up song or your pre-game go-to. Grammy-nominated vocalist Stacy Barthe is the hook of this track. She brings a lightness and pop essence that makes this a tune for the masses. On a roll playing almost festival imaginable, Ruckus has and will find myself at the stages of South Central Festival in UK, Cannes, Monte Carlo, Mykonos, Oslo, Vienna, Ibiza, and a residency at Marquee Las Vegas. Lucky for us, this DJ will be causing a Ruckus in our neck of the woods this weekend.

5/4: Deorro @ Talking Stick Resort
Erick Orrosquieta, better known as Deorro, has been slowly building a legacy since he got his start back in 2012. The DJ and producer with a loyal “Panda Fam” following, has become one of the leaders of modern party music thanks to hit tracks like “Five More Hours” with Chris Brown and the Spanish-influenced “Bailar.” It doesn’t hurt that he’s also landed huge festival gigs across the globe and produced massive collaborations with top artists in the industry, including Diplo, Steve Aoki, and more. He’s even created his own record label, PandaFunk, an imprint focused on giving artists creative license to produce music with authenticity – something Deorro is quite familiar with.

Whether it be their electric performances, heartfelt production or lasting friendship, dance fans around the world are drawn to the magnetic duo SLANDER. Through their meticulous blend of emotional lyricism and savage drops, Derek and Scott have built a passionate family of fans along with their evolution to the status of festival legends. Their dedication to their craft and the development of their own unique sound has earned them support from the likes of Skrillex, DJ Snake, RL Grime, Diplo, Bassnectar, Porter Robinson and more. Amongst dozens of chart-topping remixes, their original Heaven Trap hit “Love Again” featuring vocalist WAVZ has been listened to over 10 million times while being championed by Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint. But, that was just the beginning of their journey. 5/4: Ray Volpe & Ubur @ The Green Room
For a producer barely in his 20’s, Ray Volpe sure seems to know what he’s doing. The LA-based artist dropped out of high school to focus on music full time, and it might have been one of the best decisions he’s made. He’s since released several EPs, supported tours for artists like Borgore, Krewella, and Kill The Noise, and performed at some major festivals, including Audiotistic, Escape Halloween, and more When he was only 12 years old, Ray Volpe started producing music. At age 19, he dropped out of high school to devote himself fully to his music. Now, at age 21, his hard work is paying off. Performing alongside the very artists that inspired him, Ray Volpe has distinguished himself with his melodic, yet explosive sounds.
UBUR started taking producing seriously in 2014. He got his name from it being his username on Xbox Live as Uber Dolphin but later dropped the dolphin part. His music is described as a blend of wonky riddim, dubstep, and trap along with heavy basslines. UBUR is closely associated with Never Say Die: Black Label. He has released two EPs with the label including Welcome to Heck (2017) and Double U (2018).

5/5: Zedd @ Talking Stick Resort
Born Anton Zaslavski, Grammy-winning DJ and producer Zedd broke onto the scene first in 2010 with a remix of Skrillex’s “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.” Though known for his glitch, pulsing production, Zedd’s musical journey began in the acoustic realm. Raised in a musical family, the future producer cut his teeth on the piano at four years old and eventually moved on to drums and played in a rock band before being drawn into the digital world in 2009. Zedd built a name for himself with his remixes of artists like Lady Gaga, B.o.B, and Armand Van Helden while also releasing his own singles and EPs. In late 2012, the young producer delivered his first full-length album, the massively popular Clarity, whose lead single, “Spectrum,” shot to the top of the U.S. dance chart. In 2015 he released his sophomore LP, True Colors, which presented more diversity with genres like rock and rap as influences. An international tour in support of the album followed. In 2017, he issued the single “Stay,” featuring Canadian singer Alessia Cara on vocals. The following year, he paired with country sensation Maren Morris for the single “The Middle,” which topped Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs charts and landed three Grammy nominations.

Lil Jon got his start in music as the lead front man for the multi-platinum selling rap group Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz. In 2005, the group disbanded and Lil Jon began pursuing his solo career. As a solo rapper, Lil Jon went on to produce a successful solo album, Crunk Rock, on Univeral Republic Music. This album is the tip of the iceberg in his electronic journey. The album features collaborations with artists like LMFAO, Pitbull, Ice Cube, and Waka Flocka Flame. For the first time, Lil Jon was releasing pop and electronic influenced tracks, instead of straight hip-hop songs. That same year, his collaboration with 3OH3, “Hey,” was featured on MTV’s Jersey Shore. Additionally, his still highly-praised track “Outta Your Mind” was featured in the infamous party movie Project X. In the following years, Lil Jon would go on to produce “Turn down for what” on Columbia Records with DJ Snake. The track went on to become a certified 5x platinum hit. This was just the beginning of Lil Jon’s journey into the world of EDM. The rapper has gone on to become a staple in festival recordings and has worked with huge artists like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki, Hardwell, DJ Diesel (Shaq), and Borgeous. To this day, Lil Jon’s vocals in booty-shaking, head banging, dance music is still commonplace. His voice has become the official anthem of getting the party started and turning up.
