Spin it Back Saturday: Mr. Carmack – ‘The Next Afternoon’

Hawaii-based producer Mr. Carmack has been blurring the lines of genre since he first got his feet wet in production back in 2013. Combining jazz, hip-hop, and all different sub-genres of dance music, Mr. Carmack is a master of innovation and versatility. His rise to fame came in 2014 with his full-length album, Bang, Vol. 3, followed by his Life/Death EP, which both achieved the #1 best-selling album on Bandcamp. Several years later Mr. Carmack is still going strong and just released another full-length album, Demolish. 

For this week’s Spin it Back Saturday, let’s take it easy with Mr. Carmack’s laid-back “The Next Afternoon.”

The funkiest of tunes, “The Next Afternoon” really gives off those laze-all-day Saturdays vibes. Off his 2014 Reality EP, this track set the bar for the eclectic sound Mr. Carmack would come to deliver in the following years.
