Watch It Wednesday: The Chainsmokers & Illenium – ‘Takeaway’ ft. Lennon Stella

Grammy Award-winning artist/producer duo The Chainsmokers and sadboi music pioneer Illenium recently combined their talents with rising star Lennon Stella to create an otherworldly concoction of silky synths, pop rhythm, and crooning vocals in their track “Takeaway.” The Chainsmokers reached fame through their diverse sound that stretches across electronic, indie, and pop genres, while Illenium has exploded in popularity by pulling at the heartstrings and tear ducts of a newer generation of EDM fans. The new talent of Lennon Stella adds a sweetly original element to the track, and now you can appreciate all of this with their new music video for this week’s Watch it Wednesday.

The video features all four artists and was shot at The Vessel at Hudson Yards in New York City. Speaking about the video, The Chainsmokers said, “We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to be one of the first artists to create a music video with The Vessel! We are from New York so to be a part of something that will be a huge part of New York City history is incredibly special to us. We also had to run up a ton of stairs in this video all day so we hope people appreciate that.” The overall colors and vibe of the video are dreamy and nostalgic, syncing perfectly with the energy of the song.
