Audien Anyone? Selective Hearing

So, I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty jacked to see Audien throw down at Wild Knight tonight. (I see you trance family!)

I bumped Pandora this morning on my Audien playlist just to find a treasure from a few years back. “Selective Hearing”, released on iTunes June 10, 2011–a few lifetimes in the EDM world–shows us early on in Audien’s career that this kid has producing hands of gold.

Audien – Selective Hearing

Before his hit collaboration with Michael S., before Wayfarer rocked the Beatport trance chart for a month, before he was featured as the first song ever played on Above & Beyond‘s new Group Therapy Radio Show, there was this smooth, yet bouncy trance tune.

It opens with a solid rise, pushes you off a seductive drop that leaves you moving around in your seat, on the dance floor, in your mind. Be sure to thank Audien tonight for the that glossy piano bridge in there as well. That brings us to the second trop (trance drop, get it?), which happens to be better than the first. It feels a bit like someone jump roping on the chord, perfectly in sync with the beat.

Catch this tune and tell me you’re not excited for Audien’s appearance on the decks tonight in Scottsdale. Though old enough that it might not make it into his set, he has a seemingly endless amount of killer tracks to choose from.

Trust me, I wouldn’t suggest a song if it didn’t completely blow your mind.

See you tonight at WK, folks!
