YetepThe King of electro house, Diplo and business partner Kevin Kusatsu will be producing an EDM film for 20th Century Fox, as confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is described so far at 8 Mile meets Project X, as it will follow teenagers trying to get into a Diplo show. Kusatsu told The Fader in an email that “It’s like Eminem and Christopher Walken at a Manchester rave.”
Diplo released a documentary about Rio’s funk carioca scene called “Favela On Blast”, released back in 2010. It was just last year that Diplo told GQ that he would want to take a year off touring for film making.
Major Lazer, the group that includes Diplo, just released their “Free the Universe” album April 16th on Mad Decent, so while you’re waiting for the new EDM flick to hit theaters, check out the album to bump in your cars in the meantime.
