While this is just my opinion, there are four reasons why I think Knock2 has the potential to be as big as Illenium one day. First, he has become immensely popular at a young age. Electronic artists can break through into popularity at any age, which is awesome about the genre, but typically artists have to grind for years, even a decade, before they pick up steam. This grind has become more demanding as the electronic market is getting more saturated, and many artists are taking hiatuses, which kills their upward momentum. While Knock2 may still fall into that, the fact he is so young shows he still has the energy to continue pushing his brand and music.
The second and third reasons have to do with his discography. First, his music can be broadly classified as house, which is an incredibly accessible genre to even non-EDM fans. This can carry him forward, as his hits have the potential to enter the true mainstream music scene, increasing his popularity exponentially. On the same side of the coin, his style of music is unique. Some may classify it as future house, but he is pushing boundaries and creating a unique sound that is just too infectious not to dance to.
Lastly, I am a big believer that “EDM supergroups”—DJs who team up together—create mutually beneficial relationships. Knock2 and Isoxo are that supergroup, and they have been wildly popular. These groups are mutually beneficial because they expose both artists to two sets of fans, which increases their growth.
Knock2 is one of those artists that seems to be a blessing for electronic music fans. If you ever get the chance to see him, the only tip I have for you is to make sure you stretch; you are going to be having the time of your life.
