YetepTape B is bringing the heat with his latest EP, Distortion Theory, and it’s everything fans of experimental bass could’ve hoped for. The eight-track project is an all-out assault on your ears in the best way possible, packed with wonky basslines, glitchy vibes, and just the right amount of chaos.
Right out of the gate, “Backspin Bass” grabs you by the throat with its wild wonk and heavy subs, setting the tone for what’s about to go down. Each track builds on that energy, but “I Won’t Be Ur Drug VIP” stands out with its mix of melodic layers and face melting drops. It’s the kind of song you can get lost in, even while it’s rearranging your brain cells.
What’s beautiful about Distortion Theory is how Tape B manages to go full send on the distortion without it feeling messy. It’s heavy, weird, and chaotic, while maintaining rhythm to it that keeps you locked in. This EP is an experience for anyone who’s into the darker, grittier side of bass.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, go blast Distortion Theory. Just make sure your speakers (and your neighbors) are ready.
