YetepDistinct Motive closes out the year with a serious KO punch by releasing his Droner EP and reminding everyone that he’s a staple in the modern dubstep scene. The six-track EP is stacked front-to-back with that signature low-end bass and the signature cadence he’s known for, but the real standout moments come from his long-teased link-up with Ganja White Night. The Belgian duo joins him on “Bark Mode” and “K9 Bassline,” two tunes built to rattle any sound system within a mile radius. “K9 Bassline,” has made its rounds in sets all year, becoming one of those IDs fans refused to stop asking about.
With the EP finally out, the fan-coined “Ganja Motive” era has officially arrived. Distinct Motive leans into a bouncy, back-and-forth rhythm that pairs perfectly with GWN’s wobble-driven basslines giving each track that hypnotic push-pull energy that grabs a crowd. It’s a collaboration fans have been waiting on for months, and the payoff is massive, heavy, playful, and dripping with personality. As far as year-end drops go, Droner stands with authority.
