YetepI recently covered a new Steller release called, “Frames of Infinity” (ft. Taylr Renee), an incredible journey of a track that marks my first highlight release of 2026. It is a surreal wonderland of wubs, with incredible melodic vocals courtesy of Taylr Renee. Shortly after this, Steller dropped the Shifting The Lens EP and three additional songs, including “Universe Provides,” “Bring The Energy,” and the title track. This article will cover the three remaining singles.
“Shifting The Lens” gives the EP a mesmerizing start. It perfectly bends elements of darkness, light and melody with wobbly bass and choppy drops. The introduction opens the song up like a surreal fairy tale, featuring shimmering fuzzy elements, deep keyboard notes, and subtle guitar. The drums are heavy and move along to a hip-hop bounce. Sweeping transitions bridge the gaps between drops, fully immersing the listener into the experience. The second drop drastically changes in tone and rhythm. Taking on wobbling frog-like croaks. The sample spun into the song adds to the vibe and tone of the song without being distracting. A solid start to the EP!
“Universe Provides” is an incredible blend of themes, vibes, and soundscapes. Steller’s tropical Florida Sound is present, along with a hint of India-inspired sitar. BWAMP effects straight out a college rally are also present here, moving in-synch with crunchy bass waves and light tapping drums. Hip-Hop vocals and surreal samples add a whole new dimension to the song before it expands. The drops in “Universe Provides” are extremely well layered, sometimes four or five layers deep. This layering creates an incredibly cool effect and shows off Steller’s eye for detail. As usual, the sampling is on point and blends well with the title and theme.
“Bring The Energy” is an incredible release that pushes boundaries and genres. It begins with a mist of funk and hip-hop, crisp vintage sounds, and plampy drums. The mist dissipates as wubs and drums bust down the doors. Alarms ring out, ‘warning’ the listener of the journey that they are about to take. The first drop features dizzying, brain-grinding bass that rapidly shifts to splashy wubs. The vintage sounds return in the second half, helping the song fade into the next section. Subtle, funky synth lines go full throttle, launching the listener into a psychedelic portal of sound. The second drop splices the wubs and old-school sounds with notes of hip-hop, bring the EP to a close.
Every song on this EP is incredible, but “Frames of Infinity” and “Bring The Energy” are a tie for my favorite. The vocals, lyrics, and instrumentals are all surreal and incredible, coming together to form an amazing track. However, the boundary-pushing innovations of “Bring The Energy” make it a worthy competitor. It is hard to nail ONE of the sound design styles that Steller implements into “Bring The Energy” but Steller succeeds at them all. The incredible layering make for an unforgettable track and a highlight of this EP.
