YetepListening to their music, one can distinguish how Mantis’ roots come from a culture of heavy music. Originally toying with multiple forms of heavy metal, the two transitioned to dubstep to keep their originals different and recent.
Their newest EP, The Hundred Deep, goes wild. Right off the bat, “Mobbin’,” featuring Crichy Crich hits you hard with those heavy rhythms and rapid vocals. Throughout the entire four-track release, these guys don’t give you any breaks.
With all of that, it’s obvious how hardcore their live performances are. These past couples years, they’ve toured with Downlink, Dieselboy, and played other pop up shows opening for artists Barely Alive and Fox Stevenson. Along with these events, Mantis has been showcasing their skills at larger-scale events Imagine Music Festival and finished a tour in Australia at the beginning of the year.
