Halloween is just around the corner and if you don’t have much planned yet, we have got you covered. To pregame for the spooky Holiday that will be wrapping up October are five different shows starting on Thursday bringing all sorts of music. Thursday we have Zeds Dead, the Safe In Sound Tour on Friday, the Wicked Ball on Saturday, and Lil Flip on Sunday.
This Thursday the 27th, DC and Hooks, also known as Zeds Dead, will be making their third stop on their Northern Lights Tour in Tempe at the Marquee. After a few leaked singles and lots of teasing on social media, the Canadian duo released the Northern Lights album on the 13th just in time to kick off the tour. The album features collaborations with Diplo and NGHTMRE and vocalists/rappers Pusha T, Elliphant, and GG Magree to name a few. All together the album is a knockout and refreshing effort from Zeds Dead showcasing their crazy talent and a little experimenting with new styles. You won’t want to miss the Northern Lights tour to hear the new tracks, and of course their legendary originals.
The Safe In Sound Tour is taking on it’s third year of bring the best of bass music around the US, and this Friday it’s bringing Terravita, Laxx, and Borgore to the Pressroom. This years tour is hosted by Redbull and plans to deliver 150,000 watts of PK sound just incase you wanted some bass in your face. Borgore performed at the Pressroom three years ago, and now he returns with some friends for a bass and dub filled Friday night.
Also on Friday night, DJ Irene will be bringing her hard house sounds to Gypsy Bar. DJ Irene was an extremely active DJ in the late 90’s mixing 30 to 40 songs into a mix and loved by the young rave scene. She started off delivering hard house music and added the sounds of progressive house and trance as she grew as an artist. This will be a legendary show, as DJ Irene is quite the legend.
On Saturday, the second annual Wicked Ball will be taking place at the Talking Stick Arena for an eventful halloween themed evening with lots of fun and music. Benny Benassi and Cash Cash will be taking over the tunes for the night while a costume contest worth ten thousand dollars will be hosted by 101.5’s Lady La. The Wicked Ball is going to be the place to be to celebrate Halloween this year with awesome music, and of course, your chance to win some cash, while listening to Cash Cash.
Although Wicked Ball is going to be quite the holiday bash, if you’re a Waka Flocka fan, he is going to be making an appearance on Saturday night at the Hell & Heaven Ball at the Arizona Event Center with Caked Up. Waka Flocka, also known as Waka Flocka Flame, is a southern rapper from Jamacia associated with Gucci Mane and his So Icey Entertainment enterprise. He is known for his banging rap beats alongside shouts and yells. Oscar Wylde, also known as Caked Up, made an appearance in the music industry in 2013 and quickly gained a devoted fan base. Oscar is loved for his hip-hop beats, keen pop sensibility, and smashing remixes of popular tracks. Waka and Caked Up are going to make for one wild night
To wrap up the weekend on Sunday, Halloween eve, Lil Flip aka “the Leprechaun,” aka “the Dirty South’s Undisputed Freestyle King” will be bringin’ the beats to Salt in Glendale. The Houston based rapper released his first album in 2000 on Universal Records catching the attention of the famous DJ Screw. Lil Flip is known for his cutting edge rhymes, street inspired themes and powerhouse production. If you’re a fan of hip-hop, you won’t want to miss him.
