SubDocta Prescribes His ‘CBDB’ EP

SubDocta, born Preston Charles, has explosively taken over the wobbly bass music scene, mastering what he eloquently dubbed “West Coast Wobble.” Combining a concoction of wub, dub, and dnb, SubDocta has garnered the praise from the likes of Ganja White Night, Bassnectar, and Dirt Monkey, the first of whom he’s supported on a number of sold-out shows. As he builds and develops his sound, SubDocta has proven his dynamic tastes are more than diverse enough to crawl across multiple genres. Since his debut EP titled West Coast Wobble, he’s topped Beatport charts and released on Dirty Monkey‘s new label, 19k. His latest EP, CBDB, can be indulged in below.

The five-track EP oozes with low, guttural bass, clean sound design, and just enough experimental infusion for a well-rounded bass-dubstep blend. SubDocta launches him out of the typical bass sound, however, with a berserk dnb bassline, marrying two individually gnarly genres into a multidimensional sound that rocket-launches his latest EP above the rest. He showcases his singularly original music along with collaborations and a remix from Wolf-e-Wolf, demonstrating his articulate sound on its own and in collaborative effort.

SubDocta will be bringing his drum & bass practice to The Van Buren on December 18th with Ganja White Night, Jantsen and Boogie T; find your tickets here!
