Pretty Lights Announces Two-Night Stand at Red Rocks

Pretty Lights will return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 8 and 9 later this year. The shows will mark the fifth consecutive year that he has headlined a show here, with all previous shows selling out.

“Over the course of both nights all Pretty Lights styles – new and old – will be explored and evolved,” says Derek Vincent Smith, who will be joined onstage by a full band, 13 members of the Colorado Symphony and other special guests. “New life will be brought into the new music I’ve been working on and my older work via remixing, via The Analog Future Band, and via the sounds of live symphonic composition in the most acoustically beautiful venue anywhere. Red Rocks is such a powerful and beautiful place. I have a profound respect for the honor that it is to perform there.”

Prior to the hometown shows at Red Rocks, Pretty Lights will headline numerous U.S. festivals, beginning with performances at CounterPoint Music & Arts Festival in Atlanta and during JazzFest in New Orleans on Saturday, April 26.

In celebration of Record Store Day 2014, Pretty Lights just released The Hidden Shades, a double 10″ vinyl set containing four previously unreleased tracks recorded during the A Color Map of the Sun sessions, plus remixes by Emancipator, ODESZA, Blue Sky Black Death and Love and Light. As an official Record Store Day 2014 release, The Hidden Shades is limited to a single pressing. It is available at participating independent record stores in the U.S. and Europe.
