All around the world, people unite in the fight against HIV every year on December 1. This year, Tiësto and Laidback Luke are helping out in a massive way. As a part of the DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES campaign, the two masters of EDM are asking their fans to donate towards an AIDS FREE GENERATION by 2015.
The (RED) campaign has raised $200 million dollars in the fight against AIDS with 100% of those procedes being sent to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Tiësto and Laidback Luke are asking their fans to donate on (RED)’s CrowdRisepage. Not only will Tiësto match the first $100,000 that both artists raise but fans will receive unique gifts for their donations. These can be anything from a personal thank you note to merchandise and being entered to win a flyaway to see Tiësto play in Atlantic City for New Year’s Eve. A full list of prizes is located here.
Actor Ed Norton has spoken fondly of the campaign. “The maestros of dance music are using technology in such a big way to fight AIDS this World AIDS Day.” Norton said. “We set up CrowdRise to merge generosity with technology and the DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES campaign does just that. Fans have a fun and easy way to support the cause their artist is most passionate about.”
In addition to all of this Tiësto, Laidback Luke, Avicii, Calvin Harris and Martin Solveig will be live streaming their sets from Stereosonic Melbourne 2012, powered by YouTube on (RED)’s YouTube page.
