Artist Spotlight: LAYZ

LAYZ continues to bring the THUNDER in 2024. The Maryland-based DJ/producer is a force to be reckoned with and has been making waves in the club scene and on the festival circuit alike. An alumni of Excision‘s Basstrack Festival (2023), LAYZ incorporates numerous genres into her musical repertoire creating a brand all her own. The song “Spark” starts out with chunky guitar riffs and guttural drums and leads listeners on a head-banging journey, aided by LAYZ’s impeccable production skills.

“Desert Chaos,” a collaboration with Space Yacht and Nazaar begins as a lost space transmission as we are greeted further by atmospheric flutes, but then takes a sharp turn into moshing territory as metaphorical metallic lasers attack us in a barrage of bass. “Desert Chaos” then suddenly dives into a glistening kaleidoscope while still maintaining LAYZ’s distinct heaviness. The flutes make a second, brief appearance before loading us back into the bass cannon, as we prepare for our final launch. What a TRACK!

LAYZ continues to stand out above the crowd in the dubstep scene with her mesmerizing concert visuals, heavy yet balanced production, and her respectable work ethic.
