The Relentless Beat of the Week: W&W; Blasterjaxx – “Rocket”

This week’s Relentless Beat of the Week comes from none other than Willem van Hanegem and Wardt van der Harst, or W&W, alongside collaborators, Blasterjaxx. This anthem has been a major success at festivals all around the world for the last year and a half, hypnotizing dance fanatics everywhere from Coachella to Las Vegas to pool parties in Ibiza. Having been one of the top 10 most played songs at Ultra Music Festival Miami 2015, it is clear that “Rocket” is dominating the sets of DJs from all over the world.

There is a reason for this tracks success and it does not stop at the bass drop (although it is one of my favorites). The track has created for itself a catchy intro leading to an even catchier build. I’m sure many of you have heard this song a number of times and there is no denying it’s staying power. When you hear the build you know that that crazy siren-sounding drop is just around the corner. But on top of that, you get a nice synth piece immediately following the drop that takes you right back into the epic and now iconic build.

This songs infectious sound does not only effect party goers at festivals, but also nightclub savants, pool party animals, and even home electronic music listeners. Expect W&W to drop this one at the Release Pool Party this Sunday, and similarly, for the crowd to go absolutely wild when it happens. Don’t be surprised if you hear it at any and every party you go to this weekend, and be prepared to lose complete control of your body!
